Pokémon Platinum - Pre-Release information

This page contains all the information we have right now about Pokémon Platinum, which is released in Japan on the 13th of September. We have handily put them all together for your convenience:
- The game's mascot is Giratina.
- The main characters have new outfits to suit the different climate (cold).
- The plot twists also take place on a location, the top of Mt.Coronet.
- Which has turned into a purple vortex.
- Team Galactic is back.
- Two new characters have appeared, a new Team Galactic member and a international police agent hunting Team Galactic.
- Floaroma Town's entrance (to the south) now has an arch.
- There is a new battle layout in Platinum, the colour scheme is now dark green, green and black.
- The Pokétch got a new look.
- New sprites, foremostly (but not limited) to Pokémon sprites.
- A new key item: The Battle Recorder. It records your battles and sends them over WiFi through the improved Jublife GTS.
- The Torn World, a new area atop of Mt.Coronet. Which somewhat resembles images by the artist Escher.
- Shaymin's sky forme's ability is Serene Grace. Giratina's Origin forme's ability is Levitate.
- The WiFi centers have been updated/upgraded to support more features and more people.
- Poffin has evolved: there is now also a Swalot machine.
- The Battle Frontier is back, it takes place in the Fight Area.
